Do You Actually Like To Watch Movies Or Criticize Them?
July 3rd, 2009
Adam M asked:
I hate how arrogant movie and television critics are. And I especially hate how random people try to act as these terrible judgmental critics who talk junk about every movie and show that comes out that they don’t like. Now I just want to know if there is anybody out there that actually just likes to watch movies and television, and doesn’t try to pick out and pick at every little flaw they see? I personally love almost every movie I see. I just don’t enjoy certain genres as much as others.

I agree, but you have to admit, some movies are just bad. Whether it is acting or just the story is not interesting. For me and my wife, though, part of the fun is talking about the movie and discussing it.
I like all movies too, from the ones that make you think to the ones that are there for pure entertainment value.
But, I don’t agree with the,” if you don’t like it, don’t watch it.”
I have never walked out of a movie, because I like to give it the benefit of the doubt. The Spanish Prisoner was an extremely slow movie for the 1st half, and I thought, what is this about, but as it progressed, it became really interesting, and I loved it!
both
but if its like a blockbuster, im not going to be petty and look for ‘deep artistic symbolism’ or whatever
but i really like films that challenge me to think and that gives me the ability to critique them (not professionally obviously but still)
i like independent films
i especially like seeing good works of cinematography
but yes, in the end its enjoyment value that matters to people more, not if critics like them
i personally don’t trust anyone’s opinion about a movie. it all depends on each person if it is great or it sucks. i love to watch movies and when they are really good i love it. when they are bad or a let down of course i don’t like it so much. for example Al Pacino “88 Minutes”, I love him but not quite what I expect from him. whenever Pacino or Deniro are in movies that aren’t so great it’s disappointing because to me their name in it should mean it’s good.
OMG yes! i agree! There hasnt been a movie that i havent ever liked for some reason. I LOVE to watch movies over and over again! You said it:)
I agree with you Adam – if you don’t like what you are watching – don’t watch it. I like a variety of movies/tv and watch them for enjoyment.
I agree and some movies are meant to be cheesy and bad. It makes it fun.
