We just moved to a developing community that is far away from the city and about 30 minutes from the nearest movie theater. The subject came up about the demand for a movie theater in the area. How realistic is the prospect of opening a movie theater? It doesn’t need to be huge. Just a few screens. If there is anyone who has opened their own theater, how much does it cost to do something like this?
I said it doesn’t have to be huge, meaning not a megaplex. I didn’t say it had to be small. There are plenty of smaller profitable theaters in other areas that are similar to ours.

Hi, I do not have a local movie theater, there is one about 40 minutes away but it is very unclean and the seats are awful. I do not have time to go the the movies when a new movie comes out either. I was wondering if there is something that would allow me to watch movies or download them to my PC. I would pay if needed, I just do not wish to go the the movie theater. I’ve always been curious; what does the theater employee do who comes in usually halfway through the movie, or shortly before then, usually with a clipboard and light? Is he counting people against the tickets sold, or is he/she just checking for camcorders?
